Tom Ogburn, Managing Director
Tom has been with LexisNexis for 25 years. He joined the business right out of school and started in Customer Support.
Throughout his career Tom has held various positions in Sales, Sales Operations, Product Development, Training, and General Management. Prior to taking on the role heading Global BIS, Tom was leading the US BIS unit which was established in September 2010.
Tom holds a Bachelor Science degree and an MBA from the University of Dayton.
Ron DeBlis, Vice President & Managing Director of Global Sales
Ron joined LexisNexis in 2015. Ron's brings significant business development and sales leadership experience from previous global roles in information services. He has spent the majority of his career leading sales teams at Dun & Bradstreet and more recently with INTTRA where he served customers in over 100 countries.
Nadim Kara, Senior Director of Human Resources
Nadim has worked in the Information Technology Sector in Senior Human Resources roles for over 15 years. He has worked for companies such as IBM, Rogers Communications, as well as Algorithmics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University, a Masters Degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from University of Toronto, a Certified Human Resources Leader designation, as well as a Certified Compensation Professional designation.
Luke Gaffney, Vice President North American Sales
Luke has been with LexisNexis for 34 years. He joined the business right out of college in 1979, three years after the commercial launch of LexisNexis.
Luke has worked in Large Law Sales/Los Angeles, Marketing/Dayton, Training/Dayton, Large Law Sales Management/Los Angeles, Leadership Development/Dayton and BIS Senior Management/Boston.
Luke holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Brown University.
Paul Garfield, Chief Financial Officer
Paul has been with LexisNexis for 10 years, holding senior financial positions in LNI, LNUK and BIS, as well as a commercial role as Head of UK Tax & Accountancy (Market). Prior to taking on the Global BIS CFO role, Paul was CFO of LNI BIS.
Paul holds a degree in Economics from the University of Warwick and is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with Deloitte where he spent 10 years.
Xavier Simon, Director Product & Technology
Xavier joined LexisNexis in 2006 with the acquisition of Datops, a French media monitoring company. Prior to taking on the role heading Global Product & Technology for BIS, Xavier was leading Solutions, Content & Technology for the International BIS unit, as well as the global BIS New Lexis initiative.
Xavier was studying fundamental physics and mathematics when he joined Datops' R&D team in 2000.
Throughout his career Xavier has held various positions in management and operational functions around product, content, technology and customer solutions, building a strong experience in the field of Information-driven business solutions.
Mark Trumper, Director Business Operations
Mark has been with LexisNexis for almost 5 years. He joined the company as a Risk Specialist in the Sales team, before moving into a Sales Management role and then into Customer Operations. Mark joined the SLT to head up Business Operations in January.
Prior to joining LexisNexis, Mark worked in the Enterprise Software industry, most recently for Autonomy and MarkLogic. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Aston University.
Shawn Clark, VP Global Marketing & Segments
Shawn has been with LexisNexis for more than 20 years and has held various leadership roles in both the U.S. and Asia, including editorial, product management and acquisition integration. Most recently, Shawn served as Managing Director, Asia, with regional roles as Director, Strategy and Marketing for the Asia business and Director of Business Development and Strategy, Asia Pacific.
Prior to that, Shawn held roles in the U.S. Legal Markets, where he led strategy and business development for Client Development and was also responsible for product management, editorial development, and acquisition planning and integration.
Shawn studied Economics at Rutgers University and received his Masters of Business Administration from New York University.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, catching up on American football, photography and travelling.
Pim Stouten, VP of Strategy
Pim has spent nearly 12 years with LexisNexis, starting in the information industry in the late ‘90s then helping found the Benelux business unit for LexisNexis in 2012.
He has a diverse background in support & training, technology, sales, data fabrication, content licensing, project management and product development. Pim has currently been working in strategy for the last 5 years.
