Canada extends sanctions against Russia

Canada extended its Russia sanctions regime yesterday. The new sanctions in brief summary are:

  1. Impose additional asset freezes and travel bans on Russian individuals, Russian arms manufacturers and one financial institution (Sberbank).

  2. Impose additional restrictions on the terms under which designated Russian banks can access capital markets, by prohibiting the issuance of any loan carrying a maturation date greater than 30 days.
