On 13 March 2015, the EU Council announced that is has extended its sanctions regime in view of the situation in Ukraine for a further six months until 15 September 2015. The sanctions target "action against Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence". Currently, 150 individuals and 37 entities are subject to asset freezes and travel bans under the measures.
This gives effect to a decision taken at the Foreign Affairs Council on 29 January 2015 (see previous blog here), and the relevant legal acts will be published in the EU Official Journal on 14 March 2015.
