EU to review Russian sanctions

On 17 November 2014, the foreign ministers of the EU's member states will again consider the bloc's sanctions on Russia in light of the situation in Ukraine.
There appears to be no prospect of the measures being relaxed at the meeting, particularly after Russia recognised the result of separatist elections held in the self-proclaimed regions of Donetsk and the Luhansk People's Republic in eastern Ukraine last week. The German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said publically that the EU should consider expanding its sanctions to include those elected in the separatist elections.
All EU sanctions currently in force against Russia can be found on the 'sanctions in force' section of this blog.
