USA expands Russia sanctions

The USA has now expanded its sanctions programme relating to Russia in the following ways (in broad summary):

  1. More entities have been added to OFAC’s SDN List:
  2. More entities have been added to OFAC’s Sectoral Sanctions Identifications List:
  3. There is a new prohibition on financing persons in the SSI List, which are largely defense-related companies.
  4. There is a new prohibition on the provision of goods, services (other than financial services) or technology in support of certain deepwater, Arctic offshore or shale products which could produce oil for Russia and which involve certain companies.
