The EU's sanctions against Russia will not be discussed at today's meeting of the European Council (19 January 2015). This means that the current EU sanctions in force against Russia will remain unchanged.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, stated that assistance for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia would not be discussed at the meeting, and that any future decisions on sanctions "will only be based on improvements on the ground, on implementation of the Minsk [peace] agreement."

A full list of current EU sanctions against Russia can be found on the 'sanctions in force' section of this blog.
